Sigh. Sorry to my followers for this blog being such a bummer lately, but here’s another HLH dog that really needs help, and soon.
7 year old Chivo has been through the ringer. He came to us skinny, scarred all over, and missing patches of hair. Even then, he was sweet and trusting with people. Now, with some food and TLC, he is looking handsome again! It’s hard not to fall in love with this guy when he’s got black eyeliner and ears, pulling off the “panda look” nicely.
Chivo is housebroken and knows “sit”! He is very obedient and a love bug with people, including kids. He does great on car rides and on leash.
Chivo’s ideal home is one with an experienced handler and preferably no other pets, especially small animals. He has a pretty strong prey drive, which was reflected in a freak accident he was involved in—some jerk threw a small puppy over our fence, and Chivo, not knowing what it was at the time or even really seeing it, immediately went after it. The puppy is fine, but this incident on top of our current space issue has left Chivo AT RISK of being euthanized—he has a few days at most and needs a foster or adopter NOW. Chivo is a really good dog and deserves to live. Please help if you can!
Chivo’s adoption fee is waived to the RIGHT owner, and he comes with his vaccinations, neuter, microchip, new collar/tags, crate, and lifetime tech support (pre and post adoption) any time you need it.
Chivo is located at Austin Animal Center in Austin, TX.
If you can help Chivo, whether it be by fostering or adopting, please either contact me via my ask box and I can give the number to reach our founder, David P, who can help you further. I would post his # here, but it’s his personal cell number.
